  1. There is a gated cemetery surrounded by wrought iron fencing on my way to and from my home. The headstones are dated as far back as the early 1800s and some as recent as yesterday. I often wonder who remembers the people whose names are clearly engraved in the stone above their resting place. What purpose did they serve? Who loved them? Who did they love?

I’ve concluded that as humans we spend our entire lives trying to gain some form of recognition here on earth – some act that insures immortality. But our focus is incorrect. It is more important that we are recognized when we enter the gates of heaven than when our bodies enter the gate of a cemetery.

Walking by Faith Alone is my own personal journey to bring honor and glory to God. It is a daily devotional examining ways we can live here on earth to benefit God and serve His purpose, not our own.

I love your comments and hope you will feel free to encourage others with your own stories of praise and trials as we walk by faith alone – together.
